Where To Find Birria Tacos in DFW

WHEN I DIP YOU DIP WE DIP

How do you make one of the most perfect food items in history even more mouthwateringly delicious? Fill 'em with slow cooked meat & tons of cheese, fry 'em up then serve with the consommé, or broth from the stew, on the side, topped with onions and cilantro. Here's where to find some of the tastiest birria tacos around town.

Via Cris & John Facebook

CRIS & JOHN

Originally sandwiched between a 7-11 and a laundromat, Cris & John serves up always fresh Vietnamese street food like pho, rice bowls & bahn mi, but it's the spicy beef short rib & mozzarella stuffed birria tacos that have us salivating. Visit their new Campbell Rd digs for all the deliciousness you can handle.

CHILANGOS TACOS

Visit either their DFW locations (Harry Hines or up north in Plano) or even the one in Nashville if you're ever out that way for mouth-watering, consumé dip-worthy goodness.

Via Birrieria Aguiñaga Facebook

BIRRIERIA AGUIÑAGA

Hailing from the Mexican state of Jalisco, Birrieria Aguiñaga has built an NTX taco empire with a half dozen locations from NW Hwy, Garland, and Grand Prairie down to Ennis. They claim to have "la original" AND best birria in the Metroplex, and we won't argue.

Via Official Revolver Taco Lounge Facebook

REVOLVER TACO LOUNGE

There's a good reason Revolver has been featured on pretty much every taco-related piece we've ever done—it's just that damn good. The Rojas family started with their Deep Ellum shop and has since expanded to the new AT&T Discovery District and all the way out to Sundance Square. Birria isn't always available, so be sure to gobble them up when you can!

Via Del Sur Tacos Facebook

DEL SUR TACOS

Ismael and Olmy Sanchez started Del Sur Tacos in a McKinney gas station in 2015 and have since opened a second Oak Cliff spot. At their El Azul Bar, you can sample some of the finest tequilas and mezcals around, then fill your belly with beefy, cheesy taco goodness.

Via De la Fuente Tacos Birria Facebook

DE LA FUENTE TACOS DE BIRRIA

One of the more low-key spots on our list (they don't even have a website, but can be found here on FB), De la Fuente slings some of Garland's most seriously delicious tacos. Don't believe us? Check out this picture, then pay them a visit.

Via Maskaras Facebook

MASKARAS MEXICAN GRILL

This spot is worth a visit for the awesome lucha libre/wrestling memorabilia alone, not to mention the ridiculously great food. Fill up on tortas, burritos, chile rellenos, and, of course, taco de birria, along with Quesabirria and Texabirria options. Be sure to save room for some fried Oreos and/or Twinkies.

Via Birreria y Taqueria Cortez Facebook

BIRRERIA Y TAQUERIA CORTEZ

Don't worry, Fort Worth folks—we didn't forget about you! Birreria y Taqueria Cortez serves up "the most tasty and juicy tacos" out west from two locations and a traveling food truck. Follow them on Facebook for updates and more info.

Via Frida's Tacolandia Facebook

FRIDA'S TACOLANDIA

While we love Frida's full menu of ginormous 2-lb burritos, all-day breakfast, tortas, guises, gorditas, and sopes, their "best in Dallas" birria tacos keep us coming back. They're cheesy, meaty, crispy, and worth the far-South Dallas trek.

Via Birrieria Los Chivos de Oro Facebook

BIRRIERIA LOS CHIVOS DE ORO

Our final spot is another that claims to have "la mejor birria en Texas" and has been serving fresh and authentic dishes to happy Fort Worth mouths and bellies since 1993. Maybe we should have some sort of "DFW Birria Battle" to crown a true champion. Until then, we're going to just keep enjoying all these delicious tacos.
